Magnesium acetate tetrahydroate is a colorless crystal that is easily deliquescent. Soluble in water and alcohol. Obtained by the reaction of magnesium carbonate and acetic acid. Add 80% acetic acid to water, heat to 60-80 oC, and add a small amount of magnesium carbonate in batches until carbon dioxide no longer escapes. Heat and concentrate the solution on a water bath until it reaches a relative density of 1.25-1.26 and cool. Filter out crystals to obtain magnesium acetate tetrahydrate.

Magnesium acetate tetrahydroate is used for feed additives and cosmetics; Preparation of uranyl magnesium acetate for the determination of sodium; Used for industrial, deodorization, sterilization, preservatives, textile dyeing, eosin dyeing, fixation of , and other purposes
