Nickel(II) carbonate is a mixture of one or more inorganic compounds containing nickel and carbonate. The most important form of nickel carbonate in industry is the basic nickel carbonate, with the formula Ni4CO3(OH)6(H2O)4. Simpler forms of nickel carbonate are NiCO3 and its hexahydrate. All paramagnetic green solids contain Ni2+ ions. Basic nickel carbonate is an intermediate product of wet extraction of nickel from minerals and is also used in nickel electroplating.
