N-Acetyl-L-hydroxyproline is a colorless crystal with a melting point 133~134°C. It is soluble easily in ethanol. Soluble in water and methanol. Insoluble in either ether or chloroform. The product should be sealed in argon.

N-Acetyl-L-hydroxyproline is an anti-inflammatory drug used in the treatment of osteoarthritis.

Function

Collagen contains about 10% hydroxyproline. Acetylhydroxyproline is an acetylated modified amino acid derivative and is a cosmetic with barrier protection.
