Uses:
It is also used for preparation of photographic sensitive emulsifier, pharmaceutical industry, soap, lithography printing, organic synthesis, medicine, food additives and so on.
Potassium iodide is used to make iodides and dyes. Used as a photographic emulsifier. In medicine used as expectorant, diuretic, goiter prevention and control agent and hyperthyroidism before the operation of drugs, also used in the manufacture of pain relief and blood activating effect of rheumatic pain ointment. It is a co-solvent of iodine and some insoluble metal iodides. Used as a feed additive for livestock.
Used in the food industry as a nutritional supplement (iodide enhancer).
