Property: White crystals, crystalline powder or colorless hexagonal crystals. Odorless and tasteless. Hygroscopic, soluble in solvents such as ether, insoluble in ethanol, and more soluble in acid than in water. Decomposes in alkaline solution to produce sodium fluoride and silicon dioxide.
Application: Mainly used as glass and enamel opalescent agent, flux, agricultural insecticide, but also used in ceramics, glass, enamel, wood preservative, medicine, water treatment, leather, rubber and sodium fluoride.
