Appliaction: Tauroursodeoxycholic acid, also known as ursodoxicoltaurine, is a highly hydrophilic tertiary bile acid that is produced in humans at a low concentration. It is a taurine conjugate of ursodeoxycholic acid with comparable therapeutic efficacy and safety, but a much higher hydrophilicity. It has antispasmodic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and cholelithiasis effects, and is mainly used for the treatment of gallbladder cholesterol stones, primary sclerosing cholangitis, primary biliary cirrhosis and chronic viral hepatitis C.
