Solubility: can react with ethanol; Ether and benzene are miscible, slightly soluble in water and carbon disulfide, with a solubility of 5.9g/100ml in water at 25 ℃, and a bitter taste.

Production method: obtained by esterification of glycerol and acetic acid. Preheat glycerol to 50-60 ℃ and add acetic acid; Heat and stir reflux dehydration, recover benzene after dehydration, then add acetic anhydride and heat for 4 hours. After cooling, neutralize the pH to 7 with 5% sodium carbonate, remove the water layer, and dry the crude oil with calcium chloride. Reduced pressure distillation is used to collect the fraction at 128-131 ℃ (0.93 kPa), which is glycerol triacetate.

Usage: Used as a spice fixative, solvent, and toughening agent. Used for cosmetics; The production of pharmaceuticals and dyes, used as plasticizers for cigarette filter rods, etc.
