Tocofersolan is a nonionic surfactant derivative of vitamin E. It has a critical micelle concentration (CMC) of 0.02 mM at room temperature. It inhibits P-glycoprotein (MDR1) ATPase activity (IC50 = 0.4-3.25 µM), reverses benzo[a]pyrene-induced locomotor deficits in zebrafish larvae at 1 µM, and reduces tumor growth in ovarian cancer mouse models when administered intravenously with paclitaxel.
