Lysozyme is a protein that occurs naturally in the human body and has been used as a medicine since the late 1800s. Lysozyme is found in tears, saliva, and other body fluids and can be used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, intestines, urinary tract, and lungs. A lysozyme suppository is often used to treat bacterial vaginosis. Lysozyme may also be used topically to treat skin infections. There are many factors that make this product useful.
