ODQ is a selective and potent GCS (soluble guanylyl cyclase, sGC) inhibitor that binds competitively with nitric oxide. The GCS (sGC) serves as a receptor for nitric oxide, which is involved in the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). In prostate cancer cell studies, ODQ induced caspase-3, enhanced cell death, and blocked cell migration. Inhibition of GCS (sGC) throμgh ODQ results in blocking the actions of nitric oxide on vascular and platelet smooth muscle.A selective and potent sGC (soluble guanylyl cyclase) inhibitor.
