Polymer laminate corrugated steel pipe can stand up to high concentrations of acids and alkalis. The service life can be more than 100 years.
Asphalt coating is often coated after fabrication or after installation. It is used to reinforce the pipe in the sites where the three coatings available (galvanized, ALT2 and polymer) on steel delivered to pipe fabrication facilities may not be the best match for the site conditions.
