白細(xì)胞介素-18 (IL-18)是一種屬于IL-1超家族的細(xì)胞因子，由巨噬細(xì)胞和其他細(xì)胞產(chǎn)生。IL-18通過(guò)與IL-18受體結(jié)合發(fā)揮作用，在脂多糖(LPS)等微生物產(chǎn)物感染后，與IL-12一起誘導(dǎo)細(xì)胞介導(dǎo)的免疫。經(jīng)IL-18刺激后，自然殺傷(NK)細(xì)胞和某些T細(xì)胞釋放另一種重要的細(xì)胞因子干擾素-γ (IFN-γ)或ⅱ型干擾素，在激活巨噬細(xì)胞或其他細(xì)胞中起重要作用。該細(xì)胞因子與IL12的結(jié)合已被證明可以抑制IL-4依賴(lài)性IgE和IgG1的產(chǎn)生，并增強(qiáng)B細(xì)胞中IgG2a的產(chǎn)生。IL-18結(jié)合蛋白(IL18BP)可與該細(xì)胞因子發(fā)生特異性相互作用，從而負(fù)向調(diào)控其生物學(xué)活性。
