白細(xì)胞介素4（IL-4）是一種由活化Th2細(xì)胞與肥大細(xì)胞產(chǎn)生的多效細(xì)胞因子，在免疫應(yīng)答中發(fā)揮核心作用。其生物學(xué)效應(yīng)通過(guò)結(jié)合造血/非造血細(xì)胞表面的高親和力受體復(fù)合物介導(dǎo)。在造血細(xì)胞中，IL-4信號(hào)由140kDa的IL-4Rα亞基（CD124）與70kDa的共同細(xì)胞因子受體γ鏈（γc, CD132）組成的高親和力受體復(fù)合物傳遞。

白細(xì)胞介素4受體（IL-4R），亦稱CD124、IL-4Rα或BSF受體，屬于I型細(xì)胞因子受體。該受體介導(dǎo)Th2型免疫應(yīng)答、替代性巨噬細(xì)胞活化、黏膜免疫、過(guò)敏性炎癥、腫瘤進(jìn)展及動(dòng)脈粥樣硬化等病理進(jìn)程。其可溶形式（sIL-4R）可通過(guò)可變剪接或膜結(jié)合蛋白酶解產(chǎn)生，能競(jìng)爭(zhēng)性阻斷IL-4介導(dǎo)的細(xì)胞增殖及T細(xì)胞IL-5上調(diào)效應(yīng)。
