This protein carries an Avi tag (Avitag?) at the C-terminus, followed by a polyhistidine tag.
The protein has a calculated MW of 21.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 26-38 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to different glycosylation.

背景介紹
干細胞因子（SCF）亦稱kit配體、KL、Steel因子、KITLG、FPH2、KL-1、Kitl、MGF、SF或SHEP7，是一種能與c-Kit受體（CD117）結(jié)合的細胞因子。該因子既可作為跨膜蛋白存在，也可表現(xiàn)為可溶性蛋白形式。這種細胞因子在造血作用（血細胞形成）、精子發(fā)生和黑色素生成過程中發(fā)揮重要功能。其可溶性及跨膜形式由同一RNA轉(zhuǎn)錄本通過可變剪接形成。
成纖維細胞與內(nèi)皮細胞可同時產(chǎn)生可溶性及跨膜型SCF?？扇苄?/span>SCF分子量為18.5 kDa，并以二聚體形式存在。在胚胎發(fā)育過程中，SCF對造血功能具有關(guān)鍵調(diào)控作用。胎兒肝臟、骨髓等造血部位均表達SCF。在發(fā)育過程中，SCF還通過調(diào)控黑色素細胞（負責(zé)產(chǎn)生黑色素及控制色素沉著的細胞）的定位發(fā)揮重要作用。
SCF參與調(diào)控骨髓干細胞微環(huán)境中的造血干細胞（HSCs）。在體外培養(yǎng)體系中，SCF可與其他細胞因子聯(lián)用于造血干細胞及造血祖細胞的培養(yǎng)。這些細胞的體外擴增技術(shù)將推動骨髓移植領(lǐng)域的發(fā)展——通過移植造血干細胞至患者體內(nèi)，重建其造血功能。
