Oligopeptide-2 is a small-molecule polypeptide composed of five amino acids, serving as a subsegment of the C-terminal propeptide (residues 197-241) of type I collagen. By acting on dermal fibroblasts, Oligopeptide-2 promotes the synthesis of macromolecules such as type I, III, and IV collagen, fibronectin, and glycosaminoglycans, repairing and reconstructing the extracellular matrix and the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ). This addresses wrinkles at the deep skin layers and improves skin appearance. Additionally, Oligopeptide-2 can enhance the expression of wound repair genes, facilitating the recovery of skin tissue.
