Sibeprenlimab (VIS649) is a humanized IgG2 kappa monoclonal antibody targeting a proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL, TNFSF13). It binds to and neutralizes APRIL, reducing the production of IgA, particularly pathogenic galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1). It is being developed for the treatment of IgA nephropathy (IgAN), aiming to lower levels of nephritogenic antibodies and slow disease progression.
