Isophthalic Acid (IPA, CAS 121-91-5) is a high-purity, white crystalline powder or granulate. It is insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water, and easily soluble in ethanol, acetone, and glacial acetic acid. As a critical dicarboxylic acid derivative, IPA serves as a premier chemical building block for fabricating advanced polymers and specialty chemicals. Compared with Paraxylene-derived PTA, the unique meta-structured aromatic ring of IPA imparts downstream resins with exceptional elasticity, superior optical clarity, strong impact resistance, and elite chemical anti-corrosion properties. Polyester (PET) & Fiber Modification: Integrated as a key modifying co-monomer in PET resin packaging, engineered films, and Low Melting Fibers (LMF). It disrupts polymer crystallinity, lowers melt processing temperature, and elevates bottle clarity and impact toughness.
Specialty Adhesives & Functional Inks: Applied in fabricating technical polyester hot-melt adhesives, flexographic printing inks, and as a durable polymer chain extender in engineered polyamides.
Packaging & Storage
Packing: Available in standard industrial 1100 KGS or 1000 KGS jumbo bags (PP woven bags with moisture-proof PE liners). Small-scale trial lots support 25 KGS multi-layer kraft paper bags.
