Gamma 2-MSH (41-58), amide is a peptide fragment of gamma 2-MSH, retaining amino acids 41-58 in the sequence, and the C-terminus of the peptide chain is blocked by amidation. Gamma 2-MSH (41-58), amide derived from gamma 2-MSH, is a 12 amino acid peptide derived from the N-terminal fragment of POMC (pro melanocortin), containing the His Phe Arg Trp motif shared by all endogenous melanocortin agonist ligands. It acts on the melanocortin receptor and participates in the GPCR/G protein signaling pathway and neural signal transduction.
