Petroleum resin is named because of the deep source of petroleum derivatives. It has the properties of low acid value, good miscibility, water resistance, ethanol resistance and chemical resistance, good chemical stability of acid and alkali resistance, and good regulating viscosity and thermal stability, etc. Petroleum resin is generally not used alone, but used as accelerator, regulator and modifier with other resins.

Paint

The coating mainly uses C9 petroleum resin with high softening point, DCPD resin, C5/C9 copolymer resin. The addition of petroleum resin in the coating can increase the gloss of the coating and increase the adhesion, hardness, acid and alkali resistance of the paint film.

Rubber

Rubber mainly uses C5 petroleum resin with low softening point, C5/C9 copolymer resin and DCPD resin. Such resins and natural rubber particles have good solubility and have no obvious influence on rubber vulcanization process. Rubber and petroleum resin can play the role of viscosity enhancement, reinforcement and softening. Especially the addition of C5/C9 copolymer resin can not only increase the bonding strength between rubber particles, but also improve the bonding strength of rubber particles and cord.

Adhesive Industry

Petroleum resin has good adhesive power. Adhesives and pressure-sensitive tapes made of petroleum resin can improve adhesive strength, acid resistance, alkali resistance and water resistance, and can effectively reduce production costs.
