Diquafosol is a pharmaceutical drug for the treatment of dry eye disease. It stimulates the secretion of tear fluid and mucin on the ocular surface, thus enabling us to selectively treat the tear film layer, playing an important role in the establishment of the concept of “Tear Film Oriented Therapy (TFOT)”, an effective therapeutic approach to dry eye in Japan. 

Diquafosol Impurity-URD(Uridine) is one of the key nucleotide that making RNA. Uridine is a nucleotide base found in high levels in beer which is used for increasing synthesis of cellular membranes and for other neurological properties. It is a glycosylated pyrimidine-analog containing uracil attached to a ribose ring via a β-N1-glycosidic bond.
