Yes. At 180 °C, formamide begins to decompose, releasing toxic gases such as hydrogen cyanide and ammonia. It can be rapidly absorbed through the skin and respiratory tract, and can also be ingested. Exposure to high concentrations of formamide can cause dizziness and headaches, and irritate the eyes, nose and throat. Long-term exposure to formamide may also lead to cancer, reproductive and developmental toxicity, and damage to the liver and kidneys.
