Mesitylene (1,3,5-trimethylbenzene) is a specialty solvent used in electronics as a developer. Mesitylene dissolves un-crosslinked silicone oligomers while leaving the exposed, crosslinked silicone network intact. Its mechanism as a developer is based on selective solvent properties.
