Ytterbium(III) chloride hexahydrate is a small lanthanide series compound that acts as a Yb3+ donor as well as a biological catalyst due to its small relative size. Ytterbium(III) chloride hexahydrate has research implications as an NMR shift reagent and has been used to study the pathways of various compounds in vivo. It is also an effective Lewis acid due to the single unpaired f-electron and small size and acts as a catalyst for aldol and Pictet-Spengler reactions.Related product price
