5.1 Step 1 Synthesis of 5- (acetyloxy) naphthalen-1-yl acetate
Dissolve 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene (10.0 g, 62.4 mmol) in pyridine, add acetic anhydride (13.4 g, 125 mmol), stir for 1 hour, add water, and collect the precipitated crystals by filtration. Obtained 5.0 g (99%).
