Reaction Conditions:
Stage #1:trimethylsilylacetylene;cycloheptanone with tetrabutyl ammonium fluoride in tetrahydrofuran at 0 - 20;Inert atmosphere;
Stage #2: with methanol;potassium fluoride at 20; for 72 h;

General procedure: To a mixture of the ketone (3.0 mmol) and TBAF(0.1 equiv.) in 5 ml of dry THF, trimethylsilylacetylene (2.0 equiv.) was added dropwise at 0 oC under a nitrogen atmosphere. The reaction mixture was gradually warmed to room temperature and stirred for 4-5 h. After disappearance of the ketone (monitored by TLC), KF (5.0 equiv.) in MeOH (3 ml) was added to the reaction mixture with stirring. After 3 days at room temperature, the reaction mixture was concentrated, and after aqueous work up it was purified by column chromatography using silica gel.
