36b) 1 -(3-Bromo-phenyl)-5-methyl-1 H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid A stirred solution of 1 -(3-bromo-phenyl)-5-methyl-1 H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (1 .50 g, 4.85 mmol) in MeOH (5 mL) was treated with aqueous NaOH (2M, 4.85 mL) and heated to 60°C. After 2 hours the mixture was partitioned between DCM and water. The aqueous layer was acidified with 1 N HCI and extracted into DCM (x 3) and IPA/CHC (x 2). The combined organic phases were dried (MgS04), filtered and concentrated under vacuum to give the product (0.792g, 25%). LC-MS m/z 279 (M + H) 0.86 (ret. time).
