b) A solution of intermediate 4a (20 g; 81.81 mmol), 1 -methylpyrazole-4-boronic acid pinacol ester (13.6 g; 65.45 mmol), Na2C03 2M (205 mL) in DME (798 mL) were degassed under N2. Pd(PPh3)4 (4.73 g; 4.09 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was heated at reflux for 2 hours. The mixture was poured into ice and extracted with EtOAc. The mixture was filtered over celite, celite was washed with CH2CI2. The organic layers were dried over MgS04, filtered and the solvent was evaporated. The residue was taken up with CH3CN, filtered and dried to give 15.32 g (76%) of intermediate 4.
