DMP (60.2g, 142.lommol) was added portion wise to a stirred solution of(3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)- pyridin-2-yl)methanol (15g, 71.Ommol) in DCM (lOOmL) at 0°C and stirred for 3 h at RT. The RM was filtered through a celite bed and washed with DCM (3x1 OOmL).The clear filtrate was washed with aq. NaHCO3 (200mL), water (200mL), brine(250mL), dried over anhydr. Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated under reduced pressure to get the crude product. The crude was purified by CC (0-5% EtOAc in PE) to give (3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl)methanol (8g, 57%) as liquid..
