(2) A mixture of 3-bromophenol 1.2mmol, tripotassium phosphate 2mmol, 2- pyridinecarboxylic acid 0.1mmol, 2- bromopyridine 1mmol, cuprous iodide 0.05mmol, 12ml DMSO, was added 50ml three bottle. The mixture was refluxed under argon at 90 deg.] C to the end of the reaction by TLC after 24 hours, the resulting mixed solution was extracted with ethyl acetate, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and the solvent removed under reduced pressure to give a pale yellow solid 2- (3-bromo phenoxy) pyridine (95% yield).
