To compound 77a (3.Og, 18.5mmol) were added PBr5 (17g) and the solution was heated to 16O0C for 2h. Cooled to O0C and added ice and stirred for 30min. The solution was extracted with CH2CI2, washed with 1N NaOH, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated to give compound 77b (5.2g, 98%).
