Preparation of 2-biphenyl isocyanate
A three-neck flask with dropping funnel, precision glass stirrer and distillation attachment was initially charged with 1500 g of Desmodur 2460M and heated to 140° C.
Then, within 50 minutes, 243.7 g of 2-aminobiphenyl were added and the reaction temperature was kept below 160° C.
Subsequently, the product was distilled off under high vacuum (about 0.03 mbar), and 203.2 g of 2-biphenyl isocyanate, a clear liquid, were obtained.
