15.1 Synthesis of Intermediate 43
To a solution of 42 (1 g, 8.834 mmol), Et3N (0.983 g, 9.724 mmol) in dry DCM (10 mL) was added dropwise chloroacetyl chloride (1.088 g, 9.724 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 0-10° C. for 3 h, poured into ice water, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine and dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated in vacuo to give a light yellow liquid (1.95 g) which was used to the next step without any further purification.
