36.3 g (218 mmol) of ethyl chloroethoxy- acetate and 37.4 ml (218 mmol) of triethyl phosphite are heated at 50oC for 3 hours. The reaction medium is evaporated to dryness under vacuum. 57 g (100%) of crude ethyl (diethoxyphosphoryl) ethoxyacetate are obtained.
