Steps:

General procedure A (Synthesis of aroyl chloride from aroyl acid):
To a solution of aroyl acid (1.0eq) in CH₂Cl₂ was added oxalyl dichloride (1.1eq) and DMF (2-5 drops) at 0°C. The mixture was allowed to stir at room temperature for 2-12h. Then the mixture was concentrated to give compounds 1, 18-24. The products were used directly in the next reaction.
