Step 2 To a solution of compound 93 (200 mg, 0.55 mmol) in 100 mL of CH2Cl2 was added Grubbs's catalyst (20 mg, 5 mol %) and the mixture was refluxed under argon for 2 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was chromatographed (3% EtOAc in hexanes) to provide 171 mg (93%) of dihydropyran 94.
