4-Bromopyridine (S3)
A 25 mL one-neck round-bottom flask was charged with 2.00 g (10.3 mmol, 1.00 eq) 4-bromopyridinehydrochloride dissolved in 10 mL water. Slow addition of 2 mL 5M NaOH solution resulted in a yellowmixture of two layers, which was stirred at rt for 10 min. The mixture was extracted with Et2O (3 x 15 mL).The combined organic layers were dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The title compoundwas obtained in quantitative yield (1.62 g colorless liquid).
