3-nitro-4-propoxybenzoic acid propyl ester was added into 300 kg of water and 20 kg of sodium hydroxide solution; slowly heated up to 70-80°C for 12 hours, dropped to 15-25°C, and concentrated hydrochloric acid was added to adjust the pH of the solution. 2~3 precipitated pale yellow solids. After cooling to 0~10°C, the mixture was stirred for 2 hours, filtered and dried to obtain 441.4 kg of 3-nitro-4-propoxybenzoic acid. The yield was 98.0%, and the liquid purity was 98.71%.
