8.4 Step 4: Preparation of 5-formyl-2-methoxyphenyl cyanide
In a solution of compound a '(845 mg, 5.2 mol) in dichloromethane (50 mL)(1,1,1-triacetyl) -1,1-dihydro-1,2-benzoyl-3 (1-hydro) -one (2.6 g, 6.2 mmol) was added.And the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The resulting reaction was dried and concentrated, and the resulting residue was subjected to flash column chromatography (petroleum ether: ethyl acetate = 3: 1) to give the white solid compound b ': 5-formyl-2-methoxybenzonitrile (845 mg, Yield 100%).
