Steps:
1.A Step A: 3-chloro-1,2-benzothiazole-1,1-dioxide
A mixture of saccharin (70.00 g; 382.13 mmol; 1.00 eq.), thionyl chloride (41.58 ml; 573.19 mmol; 1.50 eq.) and a catalytic amount of DMF (2.10 ml) in 1,4-dioxane (350 ml) was heated for 24h under reflux. The reaction mixture was concentrated, co-evaporated 4 times with toluene (200 ml) and dried to give 3-chloro-1,2-benzothiazole-1,1-dioxide (77.00 g; 99 %), used without further purification
