To a stirred solution of methyl tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-carboxylate (4 g, 27.75 mmol) in MeOH (50 mL) at RT, hydrazine monohydrate (10.8 mL, 222 mmol) was added portion-wise and the resulting reaction mixture was stirred at reflux O/N. The mixture was allowed to reach RT and concentrated under vacuum affording the title compound oxane-4-carbohydrazide (p241 , 3.9 g, y= 98%) as white solid. MS (/T7/z): 145.1 [MH]+.
