General procedure for synthesis of 4-methylumbelliferyl (4MU) glycosides (8a--f).
General procedure: The resulting residue was dissolved in dry DMF (0.42 mL) and 4-methylumbelliferone sodium salt5 (2.4 mmol) was added. The reaction stirred shielded from light and under argon for 15 h. The crude material was dissolved in CH2Cl2 and extracted 5 times with water until the aqueous layer appeared colorless. The yieldin glycosides 8a--8f.
