Steps:
2.2 Preparation of diethyl 4-iodophthalate
Was dissolved in a 4-iodophthalate (37.5 g, 0.13 mmol) in ethanol (120 mL) prepared in Step 1, followed by the addition of concentrated sulfuric acid (3 mL), it was cooled to room temperature and heated to reflux for 6 hours and extracted with ethyl acetate. In order to remove the unreacted substances washed with water and dilute aqueous potassium hydroxide solution and is purified and then dried with magnesium sulfate, concentrated to give a column diethyl-4-iodophthalate (32.9 g, 74%).
