Synthesis of 2-Substituted dicarbonyl ester 1,3-Dienes
General procedure: In a round bottom flask was added malonate (93 mmol) and aldehyde (110 mmol) in absolute ethanol (40mL), then acetic acid (17 mmol) and piperidine (15 mmol). The reaction vessel was heated to reflux for 48 hours2.Then by-product was distilled in a Kugelrohr apparatus under vacuum. The desired compound was obtained with anexcellent yield.
