2.2.1. Products a,b and c
General procedure: A mixture of A/B or C (Schemes 1-2, 1 mmol) andmalononitrile/thiourea (1.2 mmol), and ZnAl2O4 (0.3 mmol)was milled in a stainless steel grinding vial (10 mL volume)equipped with a stainless steel ball (diameter: 6 mm; mass:1.04 g) for 0.6-1.5 h at 25 Hz and 100°C. After completionof the reaction which confirmed by TLC (eluent: nhexane/ethyl acetate: 4/1), the resulting crude productmixture was transferred with boiling ethanol for purification.The catalyst was filtered; and the solvent was evaporated.Then, the solid product was purified by recrystallizationprocedure in aqueous EtOH.
