Steps:
2-[2-(Substituted amino)acetamido- or 3-(substituted amino)propanamido]-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,3-thiazoles (20-25).
General procedure: To a stirred solution of 18, 19 (0.01 mol) in dry toluene (50 ml), the appropriate amine (0.04 mol) was added dropwise. The reaction mixture was heated under reflux for 3-5 h. and continued as mentioned under compounds 11-16, (Table 1).
