EXAMPLE 1 N-[N-[N-(4-(piperidin-4-yl)butanoyl)-N-ethylglycyl]aspartyl]-β-cyclohexylalanine STR6 A. β-cyclohexylalanine (1.12 g) is dissolved in of methanol (50 ml) and hydrogen chloride gas is bubbled through the solution for about 15 minutes. The solution is evaporated in vacuo and toluene azeotroped from the residue to give β-cyclohexyl-L-alanine methyl ester as the hydrochloride salt.
