Steps:
[(4,4-Difluorocyclohexyl)methyl]amineRaney 2800 nickel, slurry in water, active catalyst (6 mL) was added to a solution of 4,4-difluorocyclohexanecarbonitrile (18.2 g, 125 mmol) in EtOH (300 mL). The reaction mixture was shaken overnight in a Parr hydrogenation apparatus under a 50 PSI atmosphere of hygrogen. The reaction mixture was filtered over a celite pad and the solvent was concentrated to provide the title compound as a colorless liquid. Yield 16 g (87%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CHLOROFORM-D): δ 1.17 - 1.46 (m, 3 H), 1.52 - 1.94 (m, 2 H), 2.03 - 2.32 (m, 2 H), 2.57 - 2.70 (m, 2 H).
