Steps:
1.a Preparation of dichlorocyclohexyl diethoxysilane
126 gram (1.06 mol) of thionyl chloride was added dropwise at 25 °C in 3-4 hour to a stirred mixture of tetraethoxysilane 100 gram (0.48 mol) and DMF (1 ml). The reaction mass was stirred for 1 hour at 25 °C and refluxed for 5 hours and then distilled in vacuo to give dichlorodiethoxysilane 55 gram (61 mol% theoretical maximum yield based on the amount of tetraethoxysilane)
