Example 2 Synthesis of Representative Compounds Compound 2-1 To the methyl amino compound 1-7 (from Example 1, 15 mg, 0.036 mmol) in absolute ethanol at room temperature was added dimethyl cyanodithioiminocarbonate (0.072 mmol). The reaction was heated on an 80° C. hotplate in a sealed vessel for 72 hours. The reaction mixture was then purified on silica gel eluding with ethyl acetate/hexanes 1:3 (Rf=0.10). The solvent was removed in vacuo to afford the N-cyanoguanidine 2-1 as a white solid (5 mg). MS (M+1) 465.
