Under nitrogen protection, 13.75 g of L-homoserine lactone hydrochloride was mixed with 40 mL of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and stirred until completely dissolved. Subsequently, 15.2 g of methyl selenate (CAS:37773-10-7) was dissolved in 20 mL of DMF and slowly added to the above reaction system. The reaction was heated and refluxed for 2 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the pH of the reaction system was adjusted to 6.0 with aqueous acetic acid and a white solid was precipitated. The resulting solid was dissolved in a mixed solvent of water and ethanol for recrystallization to obtain L-selenomethionine. The total yield of this synthetic route was 72.11%, the chemical purity of the product was greater than 99% and the enantiomeric excess value (ee) was greater than 99%.

After the reaction was completed, the pH of the system was adjusted to 6.0 with an aqueous acetic acid solution to give a white solid,Solid water and ethanol mixed solution recrystallization, both L-selenomethionine. The total yield was 72.11%Chemical purity> 99%, ee> 99%.
